2021

Handover

April to June, was meant to be a period of time that Dr. Paul and I would capitalize on becoming familiar with day to day operations and people and partners.

However, with Dr Paul, sis. Molly, Dr. Ngubane and myself testing positive for COVID-19 late in April, all the plans had to be abandoned.

All of us have recovered but Dr Paul's recovery is slow and will take some time. We continue to ask for prayer for him.

Baptism by fire

The past days and months, as someone said of me, this transition felt like a baptism by fire. However, I am grateful for the wonderful Leadership & Services personnel that work with me. Together we were able to provide meaningful leadership through a myriad of challenging events.

Induction & inception

On 6th June a formal induction into the role of Director was held at Umhlanga Baptist church. I am deeply greatful for the many missionaries, family, friends, and church leaders that attended.

On 1st July, I officially assumed the role of Director and it has been a steep learning curve. Besides the day to day operations, my time is also focused on the Strategic Direction for SIM SA, process management and continuing to work towards the relocation of Leadership and Services to KZN.

SIM SA StraTEGIC Direction

During October 2021, the Board of SIM SA approved the general strategic direction for SIM SA. Please click the video on the left to have a general understanding of the task ahead of us.

Prayer

I am sustained by the prayer of the saints.

"And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike." - Ephesians 6:19

Pray that as I adjust from having served as a Pastor for many years to be being the Director of SIM SA, that I would be able to manage this change effectively.

Pray that I would be able to provide the necessary leadership, as we prepare to implement the new Strategic Direction for SIM SA.

Pray that as I take the lead on the relocation of Leadership & Services from Tokai to KwaZulu Natal that we would be able to achieve this with little to no disruption to administration services during this transition.

Pray that I would be able to effectively manage working between two provinces for a little while longer.

Pray that I would be able to raise the necessary financial support. Our current monthly support level is at 10%.
